Den. so Larry you was born …… (hands and arms gesture beckoning his first reply)
Larry. yes
Den. yes but where and when
Larry. well just outside of Whereandwhen, in a city called Leeds in 1955, n it’s still called Leeds today too
Den. so when did you become musical
Larry. when I left school at 15 n got my first job I bought a bongo drum n was gonna be a percussionist with a former school mate n he was gonna play acoustic guitar n do vocals playing early T.Rex he thought he was Bolan n I started to look like Micky Finn
Den. what was your first job
Larry. a jounior press photographer n darkroom printer for a freelance company I was with for five years or so
Den. then what …..
Larry. well the first band became a rock n roll outfit so I split and formed Nebula with another school mate a space rock band like Hawkwind that was heavily influenced by LSD that would have been around 73 / 74 then my drummer left n I got talking with a guitarist who shared the same bus to work he asked if I could do a band photo then he found out I had a lightshow n asked if I could do the lights for them while I found a new drummer so I agreed n never found a new drummer because the synth player school mate had decided to go to London to live Photopress shut down n I went full time on the road with several different bands as well as becoming a stagehand at the old Batley Varity Club I also worked for a London P.A hire company Muscle Music n toured with Hawkwind

Larry. yeah one band I roadied for I got them on the Motorhead tour 1976 with Taylor n Clarke what a tour that was we kinda slotted that inbetween of our almost nonstop touring at that time I also worked on an Eric Clapton gig n another favourite of mine was John Cooper Clarke who I worked with twice ….. so funny …. not just him but the whole night

Larry. oh shit man …. labouring on building sites to repairing beer kegs for a famous brewery then I had the F in Blues which was a R&B mixture of most of my heroes that almost got a deal with EMI in 1991

Larry. Bolan/T.rex … The Beatles … Hendrix … Lemmy … Springsteen … and now ya can add on to that my dear friend Seasick Steve who’s now inspiring my songwriting as well as the cigarbox guitar n other things with one n two strings on n three n four strings missing … oh n the beard too

Larry. well at the moment I have a fecking lunatic trying to kill me n disrupt my life n my neighbours too … so far the police have been shit …. as so have the Antisocial Behaviour team n Social Services … Leeds City Council’s be a complete joke n need a good fecking slap for allowing this arsehole to force some tenants to leave when they were the innocent n nice folk too … I did wanna do a better job on reworking some of my demos but I put them on my website as is for free y’all
